Badrinath is a town and nagar panchayat in Chamoli district, home to the Badrinath Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is one of the four sites in India's Chardham pilgrimage and is also part of the 108 Divya Desams. Situated at an altitude of 3,100 meters, the temple is open for six months every year. The town is located on the banks of the Alaknanda River with stunning mountain vistas.
The temple opens in late April or early May and closes in October or November. Badrinath is easily accessible by road and is one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in India.
